How We Worship

In our worship life, we are a liturgical church. Our worship service takes a definite form which gives order to our worship as St. Paul says in 1 Corinthians 14:40: “But everything should be done in a fitting and orderly way.” At the same time we recognize that there are a variety of gifts that God provides musically to the church and a variety of styles that convey the truth of God’s Word. Christ Lutheran offers traditional worship with piano and organ as well as more blended services with alternate instrumentation (piano, guitar, drums, bass) for the contemporary worshiper.

The following gives a brief outline of our basic worship service used on Sunday mornings:

  1. Invocation of the Triune God
  2. Confession of Sins and Pronouncement of Forgiveness
  3. Scripture Readings from both the Old and New Testaments
  4. Sermon, based upon the Word of God
  5. Prayers
  6. Lord’s Supper
  7. Benediction

The worship life of the congregation includes congregational singing, vocal and bell choirs, and instrumental music as fits the Sunday or special worship days.
