The LWML (Lutheran Women’s Missionary League) supports the work of Christ Lutheran under the focus of missions and service through their special “Mite Box” gifts and service projects. They have been active in Christ Lutheran Church for over fifty years.
This group usually meets the second Saturday of every month at 10am. They sponsor a seminary student with prayers and $50.00 a month until he graduates. A bake sale is held the third Sunday of the month after the 8:00 a.m. service, with profits going to their treasury or mites.
They are also members of the National LWML. A convention is held every 2 years, usually in June. In 2002, the convention was in Oklahoma City and in 2004, it will be in Jacksonville, Florida. Some members usually plan to attend these conventions.
About 8 ladies meet twice a month to make “tied” quilts for Lutheran World Relief. School kits and health kits are given to Lutheran World Relief.
All ladies of the church are eligible to be a member.
An important arm for the congregation is the Senior Club which provides an opportunity for senior members of Christ Lutheran to fellowship together and serve the congregation as they are able. This group is also the local branch of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans.
The Parent Teacher League of Christ Lutheran School serves the school and faculty with the children by giving support to the teachers and staff. It is made up of parents of the children of the school who love the school and donate their time and provide opportunities to give financial support for projects that are not budgeted for the school by the congregation.
Worship Service Ushers
Christ Lutheran Church is known as a friendly congregation, and we do our best to make everyone feel welcome.
Greeters have the privilege of serving as hosts at worship services. They hand out bulletins, answer questions, and give directions.
Any member of Christ Lutheran can become a greeter. Two persons serve at each worship service, and volunteers are encouraged. Feel free to call Barbara Dreher at 637-9106 for further information.
